NEW DELHI : The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice, second time till noon, after political parties created ruckus over various issues from coal files going missing to inclusion of some backward classes into the Scheduled Castes category to proposed creation of Telangana.
Soon after the House met for the day, the BJP, Congress, SP, BSP, TDP and the Left raised their respective issues with the House witnessing noisy scenes.
The BJP raised the issue of coal files going missing while some of the Congress members displayed posters against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi over the resignation letter by a former police officer.
Chairman Hamid Ansari adjourned the House for 15 minutes till 1117 hrs amid persisting din.
As soon as the Upper House re-assembled, SP members stormed into the Well demanding inclusion of 17 backward castes into the SC category.
The BSP members also protested on the same matter.
TDP members also reached near the Chair protesting against the creation of separate Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh.
Deputy Chairman P J Kurien urged the agitated members to allow the House to function.
He appealed to them saying that the Land Acquisition Bill was very important and the agitated members should allow the Bill to be taken up.
He adjourned the House till noon as the ruckus went unabated.
