Rs 3.5 cr earmarked for Dhar-Trimbli link road: Lal Singh

KATHUA, Nov 30: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh today directed the concerned agency to gear up their men and machinery for time bound completion of five-kilometer long Dhar -Trimbli link road, adding that funds of Rs. 3.5 crore have been released for the same.
The Minister passed these directions while chairing a meeting with officers at Mahanpur after inspecting the progress on the project.
Choudhary Lal Singh said that Government is making all out efforts to connect every locality of Basholi constituency by providing better road connectivity. He said Government has earmarked Rs 42 crore under Central Road Funds for up gradation and construction of wayside culverts upto Basholi town. He said that work on the project is under progress and would be completed by January next year.
Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stone for Jagdish Chander Bose Botanical Garden near Government Model Degree College Mahanpurthat to be developed in four months’ time, adding that 62 kanal land has been made available for the same.
Choudhary Lal Singh dedicated the digitized Dr. Radha Krishen Library and Hi-Tech Computer Lab to the students of the college. The facilities have been constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 73 lakh under Rashtriya Uchttar Shiskha Abhiyan (RUSA). He also inaugurated Gymnasium in the Government Model Degree College Mahanpur, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 13 lakh by R&B Department under RUSA.
Responding to the demand of students, Choudhary Lal Singh asked the Divisional Forest Officer Basholi to develop Botanical Garden in the premises of college. He also asked the Principal to install 40 computers in computer lab for the convenience of the students.
Choudhary Lal Singh also launched official website www.gdcmahanpur.co.in of the Government Model Degree College Mahanpur.
Later, the Minister laid foundation stone of one-kilometer long Mahanpur Bridge to Kuya link road, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 11.50 crore by R&B Department. He asked for immediately starting up the construction work for the convenience of locals.
