Rs 11 cr to be spent on development of Katra: Nanda

REASI, July 24: Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda said that a total of Rs 11 crore would be spent on the development of Katra town this year specifically focusing on lanes, drains and blacktopping of interior roads.
This was elucidated by Minister while conducting extensive tour of the Katra town. He visited main bazaar and other wards of the town to identify the areas which need to be developed and equipped with basic facilities.
Pertinently, the Minister has made efforts in the sanctioning of  Rs. 1 crore from the Urban Local Bodies and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Borad has agreed to provide Rs 10 crore for the development of the Katra town.
While addressing the gathering, the Minister said that the Government is regularly providing funds to start development projects in the State and Reasi is also getting funds on similar analogy.
The Minister assured the gathering that all the demands and issues of development would be taken up one by one without any lapse keeping in view the financial aspects. “We are personally monitoring all the development works in our respective constituencies,” he said added the Government is making every effort to reach out people of far flung areas.
