RPPF highlights demands

RAJOURI, Mar 7: The district body of Retired Police Personnel Forum (RPPF) today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Om Parkash Sharma, to highlight their demands.
The meeting, which was attended by a large number of retired police personnel, raised the demand of one rank one pension for the retired police personnel on the lines of Army. Besides, the speakers demanded the release 7th Pay Commission report in favour of retired police personnel.
The other demands highlighted by the Forum were enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to 3000 per month, financial assistance to the tune of Rs 50,000 from the Police Welfare Fund in favour of retired police personnel at the time of marriages of their daughters and sanctioned of an amount of Rs 50,000 to the next of kin of the retired police personnel at the time of his death for performing last rites.
Moreover, the Forum stressed upon the Government to give 15% reservation quota in the police recruitment to the wards of police personnel. The speakers also stressed for removal of pay anomalies of retired police Head Constables/ASIs with effect from 01-01-1996 and provision of free medical treatment to the retired police personnel and their family members as is the case of Army.
All the participants unanimously decided that all these demands should be submitted to the higher authorities of police department and Government for proper redressal.
