Rotary Club provides free books to 80 students

JAMMU, Apr 12: Rotary Club of Jammu City under its project ‘Rotary Book Bank’ in Jammu and Kashmir distributed free books to 80 students of a charitable school namely Viraj Bal Bhawan Khanpur, Nagrota.
Viral Bal Bhawan is run by a charitable trust and Raj S Bharti is the chairperson. The school renders education to poor children of beggars and slums areas in outskirts of Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, Project Director, Anil Swaraj, said that the project “Rotary Book Bank’ is aimed at lowering the dropouts and encouraging poor children to continue their studies, as many of them left education in between due to financial constraints.
IPP Sanjiv Vaid said, “These books were received recently from different private schools children to our book bank which we are giving free to needy”.
Rotary Club also sanctioned one water purifier for these deprived kids on the request of the school. Later, children of the school presented a cultural program in honour of their guests.
