MENDHAR, Sept 3: Poonch District Cricket Tournament 2018 was organised under the aegis of 6 Sect Rashtriya Rifles at Poonch Stadium, near here.
A total of four teams representing each tehsil of Poonch District namely Haveli, Mendhar, Mandi and Surankote participated in the tournament.
The tournament involved league matches followed by finals between the top two teams.
Haveli team won the championship beating Mandi in the finals in a close contest by 18 runs. Haveli’s Deepak Kumar was adjudged as the man of the series and man of the match.
The audience applauded the efforts of the Army and said that such opportunities provide platform for the youngsters to further hone their skills in cricketing talent.
