Robbery at Katra: Gunmen loot cash, jewellery from businessman’s house

KATRA, Feb 20: Unidentified robbers struck a house at Katra town, here this evening and took away cash as well as jewellery worth lakhs of rupees on gun point.
The incident took place around 6 pm at the residence of a prominent businessman Ravinder Gupta, son of Krishan Lal at Ward number 3, near Nangal Road, Katra.
According to Police, the unidentified robbers were three in number and they forced their entry into the house of Ravinder Gupta on gun point, which was believed to be a toy gun. There were only two female members of the family present at the house that time and robbers made both of them hostage.
On the gun point, these robbers looted all cash and jewellery in the house and flew away after spraying something on their hostages.
On being informed, Police reached the spot and started investigation besides registering a case in this regard. SHO Katra, Surinder Sambyal told the Excelsior that details were being collected from the family members to ascertain to exact amount of cash and jewelry looted by the unidentified robbers.
