JAMMU, Feb 14: The road black-topped in various parts of Janipur, Paloura, New Plot and Subhash Nagar has got badly damaged just within two months.
Due to highly sub-standard repair work initiated by the ERA authorities after digging roads to lay pipes in Lakad Mandi, Janipur, Shant Nagar, Upper Ploura, Patoli and even in New Plot and just near Mian Dido Chowk ( Amphalla), the upper surface has uprooted. In many areas , gravel have spread all over the roads, causing bikes/ scooter accidents. Large patholes have been created on the roads. No proper ratio of coaltar was used by the contractors or it was highly substandard as the road surface vanished just within two-three months. The senior officials concerned have not taken cognizance of the matter.
This matter was brought to the notice of CEO of the ERA Vinod Sharma who assured action but nothing happened. Executive Engineer, City Division -II Jammu, Utter Kumar however, said that this time ERA authorities did repair work themselves after digging roads and they must take note of it. He said that his Division would initiate fresh activities of repair from coming financial year.
