IG Jammu inaugurates 7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup

JAMMU, Nov 10: Road & Safety XI and KC Sports Club outplayed rivals in their respective matches and entered into the next stage of the 7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cup on the slogan “Lets’ Celebrate the Duo Festival Together” through T20 Sports, which commenced today at Parade ground, here.
In the first match, Road & Safety XI defeated Kashmir Secretariat XI by 20 runs. Batting first, Road & Safety XI scored 189 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Hinan Malik scored 143 runs with 9 sixes and 10 fours and Pankaj Lada made 30 runs with 2 sixes and 3 boundaries.
From bowling side, Naveen took 3 wickets while Sunil and Haseeb shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Kashmir Secretariat XI managed to score 169 runs for the loss of 8 wickets thus lost the match by 20 runs. Danish with 66 runs, Rayees with 38 runs and Aijaz with 10 runs were the main scorers.
For Road and Safety XI, Bhalwan Singh took 6 wickets, RK Bhat and Arvind shared 1 wicket each.
Hinan Malik was adjudged as Man of the Match for his brilliant century.
In another match, KC Sports Club trounced Sai Cricket Club by 3 wickets. Batting first, Sai Cricket Club scored 123 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Rahul scored 35 runs, while Arvind made 27 runs and Ishan chipped in 17 runs.
For KC Sports Club, Vicky took 5 wickets, Anchal scalped 3 wickets and Gagan took 1 wicket.
In reply, KC Sports club chased the target in 16 overs by losing 6 wickets thus won the match by 4 wickets. Atul scored 50 runs and Arjun Choudhary made 16 runs.
From bowling side, Sushil took 3 wickets, Arvind, Rahul and Surinder took 1 wicket each.
Anchal was adjudged as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
Earlier, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IGP Jammu inaugurated the 7th Eid Diwali Milan Cricket Cup in the presence of Dr Vivek Gupta SSP Jammu, Ranjeet Kalra Member JKCA and Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs Government of Lakshadweep, Arjun Choudhary MD KC Sports Club, Rajesh Sharma SO to IGP Jammu, JS Johar SSP Commandant 8th Battalion, RK Bhat SSP, Amritpal Singh SP North, Ashwinder Koul Member JKCA, Varun Jandial DySP North, SHO Pacca Danga Inspector Varinder Gupta, Incharge Police Post Parade Vijay Kumar and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and Organizing Secretary of the event.
The 7th Eid Diwali Milan Cricket Cup is being organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Simula Sports Club, KC Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club.
The organizing committee members of the cup includes Vivek Gupta SSP Jammu, Rajesh Sharma SO to IGP Jammu, RK Bhat SSP, Amritpal Singh SP North, Ramesh Kotwal SP Headquarters Jammu, Hilal Rather MD Simula Sports, Ranjeet Kalra, Arjun Choudhary Managing Partner KC Sports Club, Rajesh Dhar, Parshant Mahajan CPO, Sudhir Singh, Ashish Singh Captain Horizon Kings, Sanjeev Mahajan, Vijay Saberwal, Sadiq Hussain, Ajay Sharma and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and Organizing Secretary of the event. The sponsors of the tournament are Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu, Simula Sports Club and Horizon Kings.
The brief note of the league was presented by Rajesh Gill former Ranji Player and Organizing Secretary of the league whereas the proceedings of the event were conducted by famous anchor Angelina.
The matches, which were played today, were officiated by Ashok Kumar, Sanju and Ajay.
In tomorrow fixture, Vishal Cricket Club will take on Star Eleven and Simula Cricket Club will clash with WCC Kashmir.
