Road accidents in J&K

Sir,
Apropos to article titled ‘Reduce Road Casualties’ by Dr Raja Muzaffar (DE 11/02.2019). The author of the article has said that during last one decade more than 15 lakh people have died in road accidents across India. This is an alarming situation. J&K also has also witnessed many road traffic accidents during last several years especially on Srinagar Jammu highway, Srinagar Leh highway and roads in Kishtwar and Doda. Even our police department , SDRF and Home guard volunteers are not aware about “Golden Hour ” when the accident victim’s life can be saved if he or she is handled properly by the people reaching first at accident site. J&K Government must enact its law on Good Samaritan work done by people at the time of accidents.
