Jammu District Table Tennis C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Nov 13: Contin-uing his winning streak in the Jammu District Table Tennis Champioship, Ritvik beat Hanumat Sharma by 3-1 to lift Men Singles title.
Earlier in the semifinals, Hanumat thrashed Ketan by 3-0 and Ritvik secured an easy win against experienced Dheeraj Arora (RBI) whose lack of form and confidence continued since he was comprehensively outplayed by Vasu Dewan two years back. Last year also Ritvik got better of him and repeating the heroics again this year showed his superiority over the experienced RBI player knocking him out in the semis.
The chief guest on the occasion was Ashok Khajuria MLC BJP who witnessed the final match and distributed the prizes amongst the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, MLC encouraged the participants and wished them for their future endeavours. He also ensured every possible help to the organizers in uplifting the game of Table Tennis in the State.
In Cadet Boys final, Arya Gupta beat Lakshay Sharma by 3-2, whereas in girls final, Hargun beat Ragini by 3-2.
In Sub Junior Boys final, Maanay beat Saksham by 3-2, whereas in girls final, Iknoor beat Suhani 3-1.
In Junior Boys final, Saksham beat Hanumat by 3-1, whereas in girls final, Iknoor beat Ragini by 3-2.
In Youth Boys final, Ritvik beat Anuj 3-0, whereas in Men’s final, Ritvik beat Hanumat by 3-1 and in Women’s final, Surnhi beat Iknoor by 3-2.
In Veteran Men’s final, Dr Prabhjot beat Abrol by 3-1.
Among others present were Satbir Singh, Rajan Sharma, Abdul Qayoom Chief Sports Officer, Ravi Singh Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, IP Singh, Satish Gupta, Ajay Sharma, Vasu Dewan, Sandeep Khadotra, Narinder Singh, Manmeet Kour, Sheetal Gandotra, Sanjeev Gupta and Vikas Magotra.
The matches were officiated by Vasu Dewan, Sandeep Khadotra (NIS Table Tennis Coach), Meenu Rajesh, Asad Sharma, Manandeep Singh, Ritvik Gupta, Ketan and Anuj.
