Rising demand lifts chana futures by 1.30 per cent

NEW DELHI, Oct 4:  Chana prices went up by 1.30 per cent to Rs 5,503 per quintal in futures trade today as participants enlarged positions, driven by rising demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in current month moved up by Rs 71, or 1.30 per cent, to Rs 5,503 per quintal with an open interest of 9,630 lots.
On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in November month was trading higher by Rs 55, or 1 per cent, to Rs 5,504 per quintal in 27,770 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by traders following rising demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions mainly led to the rise in chana prices at futures trade. (PTI)
