Rich tributes paid to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru on Martyrs’ Day

JAMMU, Mar 23: Various political parties, social organizations and educational institutions today organized functions across the State to commemorate Martyrs’ Day of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, the youth icons and revolutionary leaders of the Indian freedom movement who were executed by the coward British Government on March 23, 1931.
The State unit of BJP today paid floral tributes on the portraits of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru in a programme organized at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar. BJP State president and MLA Sat Sharma, while paying floral tributes on the portraits of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, said that India will always feel indebted to these three great men.
Sat Sharma said that they made supreme sacrifices of their lives with a sole objective of serving the motherland and ensuring that the generations after them could breathe the air of freedom. The youth of the Nation needs to take lesson from their lives and follow their footsteps, he stated and appealed to the parents to imbibe the character of patriotism in the young generation.

Party vice-president Yudhvir Sethi, general secretary, Dr Narinder Singh, MLC Vikram Randhawa and many other party leaders also paid their tributes to the martyrs. A similar programme to pay tributes to the martyrs was also held at BJP office, Kachi Chawni under the leadership of BJP district president, Ayodhya Gupta.
PDP youth wing paid floral tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their Martyrdom Day. The tributes were paid in a programme organized by the party. While speaking on the occasion, Rajinder Singh Manhas, district president, Jammu Urban said legacy prompted youth in India to continue fighting for independence. Other youth leaders presented at the programme were Dilip Baru, Rajinder Chib, Amit Gupta, Deepak Gupta, Raju, Sareen Sharma and Rajat Randhawa. A similar function was organized by PDP youth leader, Parvez Khan, who along with Rajat Randhawa, Dalip Baru and Rajinder Singh Chib paid floral tributes to the three freedom fighters.
JKPCC organized a programme to pay rich tributes to the heroes of freedom struggle– Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, on their Martyrdom Day. Paying glowing tributes to the martyrs on behalf of the entire rank and file of the party, chief spokesperson of JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma said that their great contribution to the freedom struggle of country and their supreme sacrifices would always be remembered by the generations to come.
J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu organized a Shrandhanjali Samaroh on the occasion of Martyr’s Day to pay homage to great freedom fighters of Indian Freedom Movement– Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at J&K High Court Complex, Jammu. BS Slathia, Senior Advocate and president, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, speaking on the occasion, remembered the role of the three great freedom fighters and advised the young lawyers of the Association to follow their foot-steps. Sachin Gupta, vice president, Prem Sadotra, general secretary and other office bearers were also present.
Rich tributes were also paid to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru by the veteran trade Unionist at a function held at Ganderbal in Central Kashmir today. The function was attended by various trade union activists of the area who highlighted the role of the three freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the bright future of countrymen. Addressing the function, Mir said that much needed to be done to fulfill the dream of these martyrs.
Today on the occasion of Balidan Diwas, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Bhaderwah organised a Tiranga Yatra which started from Bus stand, Kotli to Seri Bazar, Bhaderwah. A large number of ABVP workers participated in the Yatra with great enthusiasm. People of Bhaderwah also participated in the Tiranga Yatra. The Yatra was organized under the leadership of Vishal Manhas (City president/State executive council member).
On the 87th death anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, Youth Congress leader and president, LYC Jammu-Poonch, Thakur Hoshiar Singh along with his supporters today paid homage to the three martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. Secretary, LYC Jammu-Poonch, Vikrant Khajuria was also present at the function, which was organized at Youth Congress Office in Durga Nagar, Jammu.
Like every year, Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Foundation organized a function to pay tributes to national heroes Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their Martyrdom Day at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Jammu. Chander Mohan Sharma, convener, Tawi Andolan, paid and many others present on the occasion paid floral tributes to the three freedom fighters. Earlier, a free medical camp by Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu and a diabetes detection camp by Directorate of Health services, Jammu was organized at the site.
J&K Intellectual Civil Society, New Delhi and organized a function to pay rich tributes to the National heroes Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev. Paying tributes to three martyrs, SS Sodhi, chairman of the society said that these national heroes struggled a lot and laid their lives so that India attains freedom and leads a life of liberty and dignity. Other members of the society also paid homage to the martyrs.
Desh Bhagat Yadgaar Committee remembered the three martyrs of Motherland–Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru and paid rich tributes to them for their struggle for freedom of the nation. In this regard, a seminar was organized at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Dev Ji Complex, Chand Nagar, Jammu, under the leadership of Sukhdev Singh, convener of the Committee. Senior trade union leaders and prominent citizens attended the function and shared their views.
Members of Team Jammu along with volunteers of Youth Association, Katra today paid rich tributes to freedom fighters and martyrs including Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their Martyrdom Day, today. In this connection, numerous youth today evening took out a candle light march from Raghunath Temple, Katra to main chowk, Bus Stand, Katra. The march passed through from various Bazaars of the town with youth raising slogans in the honour of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru.
Bharat Swabhiman Trust, Samba organized a programme to remembered Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at Veer Bhumi Park, Samba, During the programme, members of the Trust Samba paid floral tributes to the three martyrs. The programme was attended by Nilambar Dogra, Dr Jagdeep Singh, Mohan Singh, Uttam Singh, Pramila Gupta, Nirmla, Anuradha, Sachin Mishra, Dhruv Singh, Kulbir Singh, Wariam Singh and Parveen Jasrotia.
Today, Martyrdom Day of Bhagat Singh was observed at Ramgarh in Samba district. The program was organized by Bhagat Singh Federation’s district head, Rinku Choudary. While paying floral tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rinku Choudhary, appealed the youth of the country to shun bad habits like drug addiction and put their attention in the service of the country.
Bharat Raksha Manch (BRM), J&K organized a programme at Trikuta Yatri Bhawan, Amphalla, Jammu to pay homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, who were executed by the coward British Government on 23rd of March, 1931. Speaking on the occasion, BRM working president, Hunar Gupta demanded that Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru be declared as martyrs and awarded with highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna, so that their gallantry act to make India free from the British Rule get due recognition.
President, Jammu West Assembly Movement, Sunil Dimple along with other activists paid rich tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on the eve of the Shaheedi Divas, in a function organized at Jewel Chowk, Jammu. Speaking on the occasion, Dimple said the sacrifices of the Bhagat singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev laid the strong foundation of the freedom movement of the India by sacrificing their lives.
Students of Bhaderwah Campus paid homage to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, in an impressive programme organized in Lal Ded Auditorium. Patriotic songs were sung by Ashwani Bhandari, Ranjeet Bhagat and Taveel Khan. Meanwhile an act regarding freedom movement of India was presented by the students of Department of English. Chering Tandup, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography and Muzaffer Hussain from Department of MCA, addressed the students.
To pay tributes to youth icons, revolutionary leaders and heroes of freedom struggle Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukhdev on their death anniversary, Medanta The Medicity in association with Child Care Society, Bakshi Nagar organized a free health check up camp at Damral Furniture House, near Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Jammu, here. On the occasion, Chairman, Sehyog Charitable Trust Danish Mishra was the chief guest, who along with members of the society, SHO Bakshi Nagar Inspector Naresh Sharma and many other paid floral tributes to the freedom fighters.
All India Students Federation (AISF) paid rich tributes to Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their 87th death anniversary. The programme was organized by AISF Bhaderwah unit under the leadership of Shezan Najar. Many students took delivered speeches on life history and ideology of these martyrs.
A programme to pay homage to Martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru was organized at Government Degree College, Bishnah by the NSS unit of the College. Principal, Prof KS Koushal, along with staff members paid floral tributes to the all the three freedom fighters. A silence of about 2 minutes was observed by all to commemorate their sacrifice.
In an impressive programme at National Public Higher Secondary School, Rajouri, Sangarsh–a civic movement for justice, equality, peace, prosperity and brotherhood, paid rich tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev, the Super Heroes of freedom struggle who sacrificed their lives for the Independence of the motherland. Speaking on the occasion, Vikrant Sharma, chief resource person of Sangarsh pointed out that the movement is on the way to realize the dreams of great scholar and hero like Bhagat Singh.
