Rich tributes paid to Ambedkar on death anniversary

JAMMU, Dec 6: Rich tributes were paid to Dr B R Ambedkar on his 63rd death anniversary in different functions organised by BSP, Congress, BJP and various other political, social and employees’ organisations across the State.
Bahujan Samaj Party paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar on his 63rd death anniversary, at Ram Nagar, in district Udhampur in which Raja Ram, (Rajya Sabha MP) presided over the function today. The programme was also held at all district headquarters of J&K as well as Party head office, Satwari Jammu where Charanjeet Chargotra , Party’s State vice president and RK Thapa general secretary along with large number of party workers remembered the great leader.
Raja Ram, coordinator J&K, HP and West Bengal while addressing the masses, said that it was Dr Ambedkar who could bring modern social setup based on the equality and brotherhood. He described Dr Ambedkar as a world level social reformer. He said sacrifices of Dr Ambedkar are to be remembered and new generations should be made aware of the work done by this great socio -political leader. Impact of his work is still live in the hearts of crores of down trodden people of India. He said Dr Ambedkar has died but his ideology is still live and motivating the people of deprived sections.
Describing life history of Dr Ambedkar, Mr Chargotra at party office in Jammu said that Dr Ambedkar, who sacrificed his whole life to fight for the legitimate rights of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes , OBCs, women and other minorities in India cannot be left unsung in Indian history. It was inspiration of the ideology of Dr Ambedkar, that Kanshi Ram floated a new political Party, BSP in 1984, he added.
On this occasion, all the workers pledged to follow the path shown by Dr Ambedkar and strengthen the BSP in J&K. TD Langeh, Badri Nath, Som Nath (Ex MLA), Pawan Kundal, Shashi Bhushan and BL Dhingra also spoke on the occasion.
State BJP unit leader Ashok Koul (Gen Secy Org) while paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar today said that Dr Ambedkar was totally against the incorporation of Article 370 in the Indian Constitution and he opposed it tooth and nail. Koul said Ambedkar did not favour grant of any special status to Jammu & Kashmir.
While paying tributes to this leader on his death anniversary in a programme held at party headquarter, Jammu today, Kaul said that even after decades Dr Ambedkar remains one of the unparalleled leaders of masses across the country. He said that Baba Saheb grew up at the time of great struggle and his life incidences must inspire us to face challenges of life with positive and laborious attitude. He said that with endless craving and quest for knowledge, Ambedkar was also opposed to untouchability as he was of the view that one’s caste should not be any parameter to judge his or her capability, intelligence and zeal to serve the society.
“Had the then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru agreed to the views of Dr Ambedkar on Article 370 and not adopted rigid stand to appease Sheikh Mohd Abdullah, the political and social scenario in the State would have been totally different with no space for separatist tendencies”, Kaul said.
The other leaders also spoke on the life of Ambedkar and also highlighted the recognition being given to him during the BJP led Government at the Centre.
Party leaders including Parmod Kapahi, Brig Anil Gupta, Balbir Ram Rattan, S. Varinderjit Singh, Sanjay Khanna, Suresh Sharma, Dr Pardeep Mahotra, Ghulam Ai Khatana, Kubhushan Mohtra, Darshan Singh, Hunar Gupta, Bajinder Dutta and others were amongst the prominent BJP leaders who paid tributes to the great leader.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) also paid rich tributes to the architect of the constitution of India, Bharat Ratan Dr BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary.
Recalling the great contributions of the Dr Ambedkar in the cause of nation building and laying the foundation of a strong and vibrant democracy based on the concept of equality and inclusive society, PCC leaders said Dr Ambedkar’s contribution as the chairman of the Constitution Drafting Committee will always be remembered.
In a statement PCC chief GA Mir said that India has a unique identity in the world because of its capability to maintain unity amidst lot of diversities of religions, regions, casts, languages, cultures and traditions and it has become possible by its constitution, which has accommodated the rights and aspirations of all sections.
He paid rich tributes to the great leader for his relentless fight for the rights of poor and downtrodden and strengthening the nation.
Meanwhile, State unit of All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC organizations led by RK Kalsotra, All J&K Christian Forum, OBC Mahasabha and All J&K SC&ST Retired Employees Forum also paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar on his death anniversary.
