Rich tributes paid to Pt Prem Nath Shastri on his 94th birth anniversary

JAMMU, Sept 16: The 94th birth anniversary of Pt. Prem Nath Shastri the doyen of Kashmiri Hindu culture was celebrated here with full gaiety and fervour.
A large number of people including the followers of Shastri Ji attended the function held at Shiv Mandir Ajit Colony, Gole Gujral.
The function was organized by Pt. Prem Nath Shastri Sanskritik Shodh Sansthan under the chairmanship of Pt Omkar Nath Shastri.
On the occasion speakers paid rich tributes to Shastri Ji and highlighted his contribution to Kashmiri culture and ethos. Terming Shastri Ji a dharam Guru the speakers said that he will be always remembered for his services to the Kashmiri Hindu culture who was a critic to social dogmas and strongly advocated that scientific values were deeply enshrined in Hindu religion.
Those who paid tributes to Shastri Ji included  Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, R K Pandita, Swami Kumar Ji, former Deputy Mayor, JMC, Dharamvir Singh Jamwal, Peer Panchal president, Ramesh Hangloo, Jyotshi Bushan Lal Shastri and Jyotshi Avtar Krishan.
A hawan was also held on the occasion and devotees were served with Prashad after Puranhauti.
