Rich tributes paid to Capt Tushar Mahajan on his 2nd martyrdom day

UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: Martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust organized a program to commemorate second martyrdom day of martyr Capt. Tushar (Shourya Chakra) in Army Public School, Udhampur here, today. Click here to watch video
On this occasion, Major General, Ashwani Kumar Sharma, MG (SD & WE) was the chief guest. District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Dangi, S.S.P Udhampur, Rayees Ahmed Bhatt, galaxy of other Army officers, prominent citizens attended the function. Shwetketu Singh secretary of Trust in his welcome note highlighted the various activities of Trust like felicitation of martyr’s families, organization of eye camps, honoring of meritorious students and providing uniforms and other stationery articles to poor and needy students. He reiterated the resolve of the Trust to carry on such activities in future too.
The chief guest Major General Ashwani Kumar Sharma in his address praised the Captain Tushar Mahajan for his exemplary indomitable courage and valour and said that he was the epitome of true Indian soldier who does not mind sacrificing his life in the service of the nation. He appreciated the activities done by the martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan Memorial Trust.
The students of Government M.S Lehnu presented patriotic skit on Captain Tushar Mahajan while the students of Brahm Rishi Bhawra Shanti Vidya Peeth presented a group song on patriotism. The skit filled the auditorium with an atmosphere of patriotism and nationalism.  Hutansh Verma from Delhi presented portrait of Captain Tushar Mahajan in Tri-Colour made by him for the parents of martyr.
Ten martyr families were honoured by the Trust on the occasion. They were presented a memento and shawl. The star attraction of programme was inspiring speech delivered by Captain Naveen Nagappa (Sena Medal). He described the spine chilling account of his experiences in the Kargil war which speaks volume about indomitable courage and valour in the wake of difficult and odd situations. His speech was received by thunderous applause by the audience.
He praised the martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan who with his courage and valour laid down his life for the nation as a true soldier. The District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ravinder Dangi also spoke on the occasion and paid rich tributes to Captain Tushar Mahajan. He gave mementoes to the students who performed in the programme.
Dev Raj Gupta, Chairman of the Trust presented the vote of thanks. The Trust members honoured Captain Naveen Nagappa, Director TERII Engineering College, Hutansh Verma and anchor Kusum Tikoo.
Earlier at 9 A.M wreath laying ceremony was performed at Tushar Morh in which Army officers laid wreaths on the statue of martyr and paid rich tributes to him.
