Revival of traditional route of Vaishnodevi will boost tourism: Wazir

JAMMU, Mar 6: President, Hotel & Restaurant Association (HRA), Katra and Co-Chairman, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI), Jammu Region, Rakesh Wazir today said that revival of old traditional route of Vaishnodevi will boost tourism vigorously.
He said this during a tour of old traditional route of Mata Vaishnodevi Ji, whose revival construction work is going on in full swing. He said that series of programmes and initiatives have been lined up by PHDCCI and Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra for the revival of tourism in the State.
Wazir said that it is long struggle of the people and personal initiative of then Advisor to Governor Parvez Dewan and positive approach of the present Government that this project has started and within few months the distance between Katra and Akhnoor/Mathwar and other areas will get reduced by more than 42 KMs and the tourist places like Mathwar, Ambaran, Showa Mata, Jio Potta, Deva Mai and old traditional route of Vaishnodevi ji will get major boost and revival after its completion.
He asked the Government that the other pending projects like Katra Heritage through which the upgradation of the heritage places enroute old traditional route of Katra be done at the earliest.
Wazir further said that a series of programmes have been arranged by PHDCCI and HRA Katra for the promotion of tourism and Ambassadors’ Meet on the theme “Kashmir-The way Forward” wherein Ambssadors/High Commissioners/and Economic/Commercial Councellors of most of the countries of the world are assembling at PHDCCI Auditorium, New Delhi on March 9.
