Terrorists in Kashmir mercilessly and in absolute cowardliness, killed four Police personnel of the State Police Force in Shopian on August 29 is an absolute projection of declension and nothing short of satanic act. On the next day, viz August 30, they barged into the houses of some Policemen and abducted as many as eleven relatives of theirs – sons, brothers etc in Anantnag, Shopian , Kulgam and Pulwama districts. The abducted ones included three serving Policemen.
Within, less than 12 hours, however, they released the abducted family members including the police personnel in exchange for the release of some family members of the militants arrested by the Police after they had martyred four policemen at Arhama in Shopian after opening fire on an escort party of the Dy. SP headquarters Shopian on Wednesday. The relatives and family members of the abducted ones had made appeals to their captives to release them unharmed.
While self styled Human Rights activists, too many in number, were mum on the abduction of the family members of the serving policemen, an undercurrent of strong indignation and condemnation was observed throughout the Valley against the acts of cowardice and senselessness of the militants in Kashmir dancing to the tune of Pakistan. That a comprehensive all pronged strategy to root out terrorism ruthlessly in the valley awaits their fate unless they do not surrender and join the peaceful mainstream, now without further delay.
The State Government needs to devise to comprehensive strategy to counter these fresh moves. If militants aiming to target families of security personal and keep pressure on the insurgents.
