JAMMU, June 7: The revenue services have been badly hit in the State due to pen down strike of Girdawars and Patwaries, which entered 25th day, today.
The strike has paralyzed all the revenue services like getting state subjects, income certificates, caste certificates, availing various Government services due to lack of authorization letters from revenue officials, etc. Property buyers and sellers have been desperately making rounds of the Patwari offices in their respective areas to get the much needed revenue document.
There seems no end to the miseries of the people as no one from the Government side has either met the protesting Patwaries and Girdawars or given them any assurance. Leaders of Patwar association have already declared that their strike will continue till their demands are fulfilled.

The demands of the protesting revenue officials are grade pay for Graduate Patwaries, conducting timely DPC of Patwaries and Girdawars, creation of GQ Circles and Patwar halqas, ban on direct recruitment of Naib Tehsildar, enhancement of allowances for Patwaries and Girdawars, rent for Patwar Khanas (private accommodation) and construction of Patwar Khanas.
Besides, senior State vice president of Patwar Association, Mushtaq Ahmed Ganai and Jammu provincial president, Farooq Malik, other association leaders present on the protest site were Raman Ram Sharma, ex-State president, Kaleem Ahmed, Jammu district president, Rajan Kumar, district vice president, Shabir Ahmed, secretary, Jammu, Sadeeq Ahmed (accountant) and Jagdish Raj (cashier).
