Retired Police Personnel hold protest, demand removal of pay anomaly

SAMBA, Feb 20: All J&K Retired Police Welfare NGO & Ors Forum held a protest under the chairmanship of Ajit Singh, here today.
The protesters demanded removal of pay anomaly, enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3,000, cashless health care policy to retired police personnel analogous to Army and other paramilitary forces, reservation of 15 percent quota for police personnel in recruitment in recruitment of police department and other courses and atleast sanction of Rs 50,000 at the time of death of a retired police personnel/ retirees for performing last rites of the deceased.
The protestors said that the anomaly was removed vide Govt Order No 229-F of 2014 Dt. 17-10-2014, but the same was removed prospectively, leaving the retirees in the lurch as they have been debarred from their rights.
They further said that two reports regarding pay anomaly have already been submitted in 2009 and 2012, along with a Court Order in their favour, but the Pay Anomaly Committee has yet to remove the same.
“It is learnt that another Pay anomaly committee will be framed which is simply to kill time,” the protesters added.
The protester appealed the Government to do needful at an earliest.
The members who were present during protest included District President Samba, Raghubir Singh, Mohd Maksood, Sat Paul Sahrma, Balwant Singh, Mohd Sharif, Ashok Kumar, Krishan Singh, Jagdish Raj Sharma, Sandal Singh,  Devi Dass, Pt Triloki Nath Koul and Hardev Singh.
