UDHAMPUR, Jan 8: During their monthly meeting at Rani Park Ramnagar, members of Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum discussed the demands and grievances of the ReTs and thereafter held a token protest demonstration.
Number of ReTs from zone Dudu, Kalwanta, Ghordi and Ramnagar participated in the meeting, which was chaired by State vice president of the Forum, Bhupinder Singh. While addressing the meeting, Bhupinder Singh lambasted the State Government for not considering the ReTs’ genuine demands, which include streamlining of their salary under SSA, considering regularized ReTs as General Line Teacher as per the direction of High Court, transfer policy in favour of regularized ReTs, release of pending salary of female ReT working in KGBV Schools, enhancement in honorarium of newly appointed ReTs from Rs 3000 to Rs 12000, exempt ReTs from all duties like BLO, Census etc.
Singh said that they met the Education Minister a number of times regarding their issues, but till date nothing was done in favour of them. “ReTs are not interested in agitations and we are committed to universalize education but when we are without salary from the last 3 to 5 months and thus Government is forcing us to come on roads for rights,” he said .
Singh also appealed Director School Education Jammu to regularize all those ReTs who have completed their five years service and their regularization files are already submitted in the Directorate.
The meeting was attended by Mohan Singh, Surjeet Singh, Sumit Khajuria, Arjun Singh, Atul Gupta, Pawan Singh, Nikhal Gupta, Manmohan Singh, Harjeet, Kamal, Ajay Sharma, Kewal, Dev Raj, Yudhvir Singh, Surinder Thakur and others.
