JAMMU, Aug 30: In its monthly meeting held here today under the chairmanship of State president, Vinod Sharma and Provincial president, Rajesh Jamwal, All J&K ReT Teachers Forum stressed the Government to release 4-6 months pending salary of SSA teachers.
The meeting was attended by all the State apex body members besides district presidents.
While speaking on the occasion, Sharma sought the release of 4-6 months pending SSA salary as these teachers are on the verge of starvation and unable to provide basic needs to their family members.
He also sought the immediate regularization of those ReT teachers who have completed their 5-years satisfactory service and are waiting for their regularization for last one and half years while their files are lying in the Directorate of School Education Jammu/Srinagar. He also sought the regularization of female teachers working under KGBV Scheme on the pattern of ReTs.
He further said that on one hand ReT Teachers are without salary for last many months and on the other hand they have been running mid day meals in their schools for which no dues have been released for last one and half years and these teachers are managing the same by taking loans.
He said that ReTs have been playing a key role in the education department in far flung areas by increasing literacy rate, minimizing dropout rate and increasing enrolment in schools but Education Department is challenging their proficiency and thereby hurting the sentiments of 6500 ReTs of State who have left no stone unturned to raise the standard of education.
He said that they appreciate process of verification of degrees but choosing only ReT community has raised question mark on the so called reform in education system.
