JAMMU, Jan 29:  A monthly meeting of All J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of State president Vinod Sharma for highlighting various issues and demands of the ReTs.
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma lambasted the Education Department for being unable to provide several months salary to SSA teachers and masters. He said families of these teachers are on verge of starvation and they are unable to provide even basic facilities to their families including proper food and clothing which is a matter of great concerns.  “Due to delayed regularization, there is also a huge pendency in the form of pay arrears, DA arrears etc and the SSA teachers are suffering badly,” he added.
Vinod Sharma further said that banks were charging compound interests on the salary loans/ housing loans etc and even seized the accounts of the guarantors and the Government must act upon by immediately releasing their salaries.
He appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister H A Drabu to make provisions for the clearance of pending 4 to 6 months SSA salary and arrears of these teachers.
The Forum unanimously condemned the recent humiliating statement of Education Minister against ReT cadre on the floor of the House, regarding transfer policy. They said that though division bench of High Court has given a judgement that ReTs after regularization as general line teachers be transferred within the district and same services rules are applicable to them as to other teachers but  the Education Minister was  making twists thereby showing disrespect to the court order.
Provincial president Rajesh Jamwal demanded the issuance of promotion list of teachers promoted as Masters in 2014 whose documents have been verified by the department and appealed the Director School Education Jammu to issue regularization orders in favour of ReTs who have obtained degrees from UGC recognized universities, by implementing Government order No 252 HE.
