JAMMU, Apr 29: Monthly meeting of J&K ReT Teachers’ Forum was held here today at Exhibition Ground Jammu, under the leadership of State president Vinod Sharma .
While speaking on the occasion, Vinod Sharma expressed his deep concern over the failure of the department to pay monthly salary to the SSA teachers who have been forced to live in miserable conditions. He said that this burning issue has already been taken up with the department many times especially with the Education Minister but nothing has been done till date to streamline SSA salary .
He said that in spite of streamlining SSA salary, SPD SSA has issued unjustified circular to Director of School Education which has put the SSA teachers in mental trauma and ReT Forum condemns such order.
Vinod Sharma also drew attention towards the other demand of transfer policy, which was announced by the Education Minister on the floor of the House but not implemented so far. “Due to such type of hollow assurances, ReT teachers of the State are losing faith in the department,” he said and announced that ReT teachers are going to observe May Day as Black Day by wearing black badges and bandages to show the resentment against the step motherly treatment of the department and further strategy of the forum will be announced shortly.
He appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene in this matter so that thousands of SSA teachers of the State may not suffer anymore otherwise ReT teachers would not have any option other than to lock the schools for indefinite period. The JKRTTF also extended full support of the Forum to the striking clerical cadre who have been demanding removal of pay anomaly.
