NOWSHERA, Jan 22: Term-ing the Assembly resolution for return of Kashmiri Pandits to the Valley as just another attempt of the political parties to keep in limelight only Kashmir, the SOS International chairman Rajiv Chuni today alleged that ‘Survival of the fittest’ seems to be hallmark of the PDP-BJP coalition Government.
While addressing a rally of PoK refugees, organized by SOS. International – an organization for the displaced persons, at Thakurdwara, Nowshera, Chuni said that
he was amazed over such sort of stupidity in passing quite illegitimate and laughable resolution, which has no essence at all.
“There was no need to bring such resolution for the return of KPs to Kashmir Valley as they are very much part and parcel of Kashmir. The fact of the matter is Government itself encouraging KPs to remain outside Valley by providing them royal treatment which KPs won’t let it go”, he said.
“The resolution was just an attempt to keep Kashmir in limelight and this can be well understood through by various events happening in the time span of 2 years since PDP-BJP coalition came to power in the State,” he claimed and added that first it was Kashmir unrest and now the weird resolution was brought into the house by Omar Abdullah to keep the Kashmir back in talks. “The proceedings of the House have always been Kashmir centric and Kashmiri leadership doesn’t miss any chance to bring Valley in public eye”, Chuni alleged.
SOS International chairman further said that if a resolution was required then it should have been for PoK refugees who have been living their lives under extreme misery for the last seven decades. “But none of the MLAs has cared about it in Jammu and Kashmir. PoK refugees haven’t been given refugee status till date because Government told us that we would be restored back in our native places. There is need to provide succor to PoK refugees who have seen very tough times and they can’t go back,” he added.
SOS International chairman further said that the time has come to teach lesson to MLAs who are representing constituencies of Jammu province but are worried about only Kashmiris. “PoK refugees are all set to thwart the wicked design of these political parties and concrete reply will be given to them in the Panchayat elections,” he said and appealed the community to remain united on the platform of SOS International.
Others, who also spoke on the occasion, included Babu Kewal Ram, Capt Ravinder Kumar, Harjeet Singh, Sharda, D N Raina, Mohd Rafiq, Rajinder Kumar, Pt Lekh Raj, Capt Balraj, Capt Taj Kumar, Pritam Sharma, Roshan Lal, Sanjay Kohli and V K Dutta.
