JAMMU, Oct 22: Resignation of PDP MLC Vikramaditya Singh will boost the morale of people demanding separate Jammu State, said former MLA and NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia.
Raising the plight of Jammu people, Mankotia made a scathing attack on Coalition Government for its failure to carry out development activities in Jammu constituencies.
People are suffering from the basic amenities like road connectivity, potable water, uninterrupted power supply and lack of employment avenues to the youth of Jammu region, blamed Mankotia.
Haq-Insaaf Yatra started for separate Jammu State to seek right and justice reached Marh constituency of Jammu district today.
While addressing the rallies at Phalian Mandal, Chak Jogi, Chak Sardaran, Lakshaman Pura, Top Manhasan and Suhana village of Marh constituency, NPP President Balwant Singh Mankotia said that after the formation of PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir, development activities in Marh, Domana, Akhnoor, Khour, Bishnah and Khour constituencies have been stopped and people are suffering problems for basic amenities like potable water, ration, uninterrupted power supply and road connectivity which forced people to come on roads.
Mankotia said that development of Jammu constituencies is possible only after the formation of separate Jammu State. Discrimination with Jammu region can be ended only after adopting the pattern of Punjab and Haryana States where Chief Ministers are different but have same Governor. This practice can be followed in Jammu and Kashmir for equitable development of State. Jammu has separate Chief Minister and Kashmir has their own to look after the grievances of the people of their region, he stated.
He said separate Jammu State demand is getting huge support from people of Jammu region and people have committed to support the movement with every help.
On the occasion, Shankar Singh Chib, Nirmal Kishore, Pawan Deep Singh, Shakti Singh, Naveen Bali and many others also addressed the gatherings.
