RAMBAN, Sept 19: The residents held protest near Karool area of the district to project their demands.
A large number of residents, whose houses came under four lane project of National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) assembled at Karool and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
The protestors were demanding rehabilitation policy for those, whose residential houses came under four lane project of NHAI.
The protestors also blocked the vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
While speaking, Former District President Congress Advocate Arun Singh Jamwal said that no notices were served to the people, whose residential houses have been acquired for the construction of four lane by NHAI and district administration.
He demanded rehabilitation policy for the residents whose houses came under four lane project, full compensation, etc.
On getting information, officers from district administration along with police personnel reached the spot and assured the protestors of redressing their demands in 15 days. For the time being the officers stopped the demolition drive till the issues are resolved.
On the assurance the protestors dispersed and vehicular movement was restored on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
