JAMMU, Jan 29: The residents of Jammu West Assembly Constituency held a protest against Power Development Department (PDD) for not redressing the rising problems of power cuts.
The protestors led by Jammu West Assembly Movement (JWAM) president Sunil Dimple raised slogans against PDD and the concerned Minister.
Addressing the gathering, Sunil Dimple held the Chief Minister responsible for failure of the PDD Ministry and rising power cuts particularly in West Assembly constituency.
He said that MoS Power Vikar Rasool had done nothing to upgrade the power structure in the Jammu city.
He alleged the Government is discriminating with the people of the Jammu region by not implementing its policies RAPDRP under which the fresh electrification of the Jammu city will take place.
Dimple said the daily power cuts of 10 to 15 hours have made the life of the people especially students and senior citizens miserable.
He demanded installation of fresh new receiving station of 50 MVA at Janipur to over come the rising problems of power cuts.
Among others present were Kusum Singh, Nitesh Kumar, Ballu Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Lucky, Mohinder Litchi, Tonny Singh, etc.
