SAMBA, Sept 6: The aggrieved residents of Halka Panchayt Mandi Kehli, Mandi Samab, Arazi Samba and Chack Manga Rakwal Samba held a protest demonstration here, today demanding re-organization these Panchayat Halkas.
The protestors raising slogans in support of their demand said that these Panchyat Halqas were adjoined with Panchayat of Supwal which is 10 to 15 kms away from their respective areas. They said linking their Panchayats with Supwal was against their wishes and the people of the area feel marginalized by this new re-organization.
The protestors said that there are 1000 to 1500 votes in these villages and they have a genuine demand that there should be re-organization of the Panchayats and these villages should be linked to nearest Panchayats like Mandhera, Yogi Asan etc.
The protestors said that Panchayats should be re-organized by keeping the spirit of strengthening the villages and not to divide them.
The protestors who also submitted a memorandum to DC Samba in this regard warned that in case their demand was not fulfilled they will be left with no option but to boycott the poll.
