Replacement of worn-out pipes being proposed under Smart City Plan

JAMMU, Jan 21: Government today said that provision for replacement of worn out pipes wherever required in Jammu city is being proposed under Smart City Plan.
When asked by BJP MLA from Jammu East Rajesh Gupta as to whether large number of pipes supplying drinking water in the city have become outdated/defective, the Minister Incharge PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control said, “this is not true”. He, however, said that as and when required the outdated/defective pipes supplying drinking water are being replaced by new pipes under different schemes of Capex Budget.
“Some of the outdated/defective pipes have already been replaced by Economic Reconstruction Agency and provision for replacement of worn-out pipes wherever required is being proposed under Smart City Plan of Jammu”, the Minister said.
