Renovation of park demanded

JAMMU, June 11: Old Janipur People Development Action Committee held a meeting under the chairmanship of social activist Kulwant Singh Sambyal.
In the meeting, the participants expressed concern over the dilapidated condition of the JDA park at Old Janipur and demanded its renovation on priority basis.
The committee members said that the fountain and other articles installed for playing of children are non-functional for last many years while there is no lighting system in and around the park.
The speakers said that there are no dustbins, no drinking water facility and no sitting arrangement in the park.
“Moreover, there is no chowkidar and gardner to look after the park”, they added.
While speaking, Sambyal appealed to Sat Sharma, Minister for Housing and Urban Development Department to intervene into the matter and pass necessary directions for handing over the park to the Floriculture Department.
Among others present were Jagmohan Singh, Brij Mohan Singh, Rajinder Sharma, Rajan Bhat, Sher Singh, Rakesh Singh, Neelam Bashin, Vicky Verma, etc.
