Relief holders on token hunger strike

JAMMU, Nov 5: The relief holders and social activists of Jagti township sat on a token hunger strike today in Lane number 14 at Jagti town in support of long pending demands of the migrants.
The protesters demanded permanent rehabilitation of displaced Pandits leading an exiled life for last 28 years, compensation to over aged youth and enhancement of cash assistance from Rs 83 per day per soul to Rs 200 per soul per day.
The protesters warned that in case the demands were not settled within one month they will launch chain hunger strike till the demands are accepted.
Those who sat on fast included Sunil Pandita, Vijay Koul, R N Raina, Kundan Raina, Bushan Lal Koul, Tej Krishan Bhat and Rajinder Dhar.
