Relief holders critical of Govt order

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, Jan 6: The relief holders of Jagti have taken serious exception to the order issued by the Relief Organization asking the migrants applying for State Subject certificates to bring the revenue records from Valley as a proof of their residence in the State.
In a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of Sunil Pandita it said that it was not possible for the migrant youth to visit their home localities in Valley to get revenue records and had it been so then why they would have been leading an exiled life in unhygienic camps for last 27 years.
Pandita said that if Government needs the residential proof is necessary for issuing the PRCs it can verify the same through its own agencies instead of putting migrants to trouble.
The meeting also expressed concern over delaying the ration supply every month and said despite repeated appeals the process has not been changed. It also demanded holding of elections in the township to elect the representative acceptable to all besides demanding compensation for over aged youth.
The meeting was attended by M K Raina, Satish Bhat, Ramesh Bhat, Rinku Pandita, Sunil Raina etc.
