Relief Commissioner interacts with migrants at Durga Nagar

JAMMU,  Sept 24: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, M L Raina today visited Durga Nagar and interacted with the residents of area.
A meeting was organized by Durga Nagar Welfare Committee with him in which the heads of various migrant organizations and socio-political leaders participated. The Welfare Committee also presented a memorandum highlighting the various demands of the residents of area in particular and overall Kashmiri migrants in general to the RRC.
The memorandum demanded providing of ration to displaced government employees and pensioners, enhancement of relief,  advertisement of 3000 posts announced under PM package, bifurcation of ration cards, establishment of relief zone at Durga Nagar, providing of funds to community hall which is under construction, release of ration and relief in the first week of every month, issuance of ration cards to the left out migrant employees and pensioners,  settlement of medical cases,  fresh registration cases and State  subject cases, allotment of quarters to deserving families from non camp areas etc.
The meeting was attended by Roshan Lal Raina, president of the Committee, Chand Ji Bhat president Displaced District BJP, Makhan Lal Mandal president BJP, Bushan Lal Koul , president BJP Durga Nagar, D N Kissu chairman AIDKUF, Sheela Handoo, ex corporator, Prof Girdhari Lal Kaul and Chaman Lal.
The Relief Commissioner after listening these problems assured that he will take up the issue of ration for Government employees and pensioners with the Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. He also assured that ration and relief will be provided by first week of every month while the other demands will also be considered.
