JAMMU, Apr 8: All J&K Dalit Samaj will approach Social Welfare Department for releasing scholarships of SC and ST students, who have not been paid scholarship for the past 3 to 4 years.
This was stated by Dalit leader Romesh Angurana while interacting with the media persons here today. He was flanked by Ashok Jogi, Vijay Mangotra, Dr Om Parkash Bhagat, Dev Raj Angral and VK Loach.
Angurana stated that the All J&K Dalit Samaj has been framed to educate the dalit samaj about the life and teachings of Dr Baba Sahab Ambedkar. The Samaj will also work for the upliftment of the downtrodden and weaker section of the society, he added.
He stressed upon the dalit samaj to provide better education to their children, so that they can compete with the students of general category.
Among others present were Dev Anand Gill, Mangal Dass Dogra, Rakesh Bhagat, Mohan Lal, Dalip Thapa, etc.
