Rehman’s plea to FM

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 4: Former MP and Chief Patron Chenab Valley Hill Development Council Doda Sheikh Abdul Rehman has urged upon Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu to make provisions in the ensuing State Budget for payment on account of forest clearance so that various small and big road projects in the vast Chenab valley area don’t get hampered and delayed.
In a handout, Rehman explained that Forest Department has decided not to give clearance for road projects even for 500 meters or so if the previous payments of crores of rupees were not been cleared by the concerned executing agency. Therefore in the larger interest of creating road network in entire Chenab valley, there is urgent need to keep a provision for payment to the Department.
Rehman has urged upon Finance Minister to look into the matter personally and make suitable provisions in the budget for the same while presenting it in the Assembly.
