JAMMU, Feb 23: All Jammu and Kashmir Graduate Engineers Association-Civil (GEASSOC) has urged upon the Minister for PW(R&B), Naeem Akhtar to regularise the services of Graduate engineers at all levels in the State.
A deputation of the Graduate Engineers Association led by its president, Gandeep Pargal met the Minister for R&B here today and took up the burning issues of the civil engineers with him. They stressed upon the Minister to regularise services of engineers at all levels and fill up vacant posts on 80:20 basis against available vacancies as per EGS rules.
They also projected miserable plight of the engineers and said that many engineers are still waiting for the last about 17 years for their first ever confirmation as Assistant Engineers. Many engineers even are retiring as unconfirmed officers and that too, in the Junior Engineer’s grade. They also claimed that engineering cadre has not been reviewed for the last over 30 years.
The Minister gave patient hearing and assured the delegation that rules will be taken into consideration while making promotions and justice will be done with them.
Mujib Tak, Anil Thappa, Ashok Tandon, Gopal Sharma, Neeraj Sharma, Rajesh Sumberia, ZA Shapoo, Mufti Irfan Shah and JP Saraf also accompanied the delegation.
