JAMMU, Dec 11: Three weeks  refresher course in Behavioural Sciences (Inter Disciplinary) commenced at Department of Psychology, University of Jammu today.
The UGC sponsored course is being organized by the Human Resource Development Centre in collaboration with the Department of Psychology. The course was formerly inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor Prof  R D Sharma in presence of Prof  Arti Bakshi, Course Coordinator and HoD of Psychology and Prof  J P Singh Joorel, Director HRDC, University of Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion,  the Vice Chancellor called upon the teachers to focus on research in their areas of expertise. He also advised the teachers to be role model and to lead by example. The Vice Chancellor also quoted many of his personal teaching-learning experiences with regard to the academic pursuits and administration.
Earlier,  Director of HRDC, Prof  J P Singh Joorel  highlighted the need and importance of the research.
Prof  Arti Bakshi,  Course Coordinator in her address,  dwelt in detail about various areas of studies that would be covered during the course. She also outlined the various facets of Behavioural Science specially Psychology.
Ranjeet Kalra,  Assistant Director, HRDC,  presented the formal vote of thanks on the occasion. Around  50 teachers belonging to various Universities and Colleges of the county are participating in the three weeks  Refresher Course.
