Redress problems of Naxals: BSP

JAMMU, Sept 15: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) asked the State and Central Governments to redress the problems of the naxals at the earliest.
A meeting of BSP was held under the chairmanship of its State president Tulsi Dass Langeh, in which BSP leaders and workers participated.
While speaking, Langeh said tea garden labourers (naxals), who were working in the tea-garden of Naxalwari area of West Bengal from generation together on the pattern of bonded labourers and were not given their hard earning, besides their children were denied education and other basic amenities.
He said that it was a great tragedy with the labourers working in the tea garden of Naxalwari area of West Bengal, that despite of hard labour, they were not given their hard earnings, which created lot of hurdles for them to survive.
As the prices of the essential commodities were touching the sky, the naxals put forth their demands of enhancing their wages before feudal lords, but the feudal lords were reluctant to enhance their wages and compelled the labourers to revolt.
Feudal lords in connivance with Government tried to crush the movement of naxals and it expanded to other areas, where labourers were victim of feudal lords, he added.
Among others present were RL Chargotra, Rattan Kumar Bhagat, BD Thapa, Rakesh Wazir, Charan Dass, Dr Harjit Kumar, Raja Singh, Dalbir Singh Bhagat, etc.
