Redress issues of people on priority basis: Sharma

JAMMU, Nov 27: Former MLC and chief spokesman of JKPCC, Ravinder Sharma  visited various parts of Sunderbani and Nowshera in district Rajouri and took stock of the problems being faced by the people.
Sharma was apprised by the people that Government has failed to provide sugar through PDS for the last over two months, non-availability of adequate quota of ration as per scale fixed by the Government, power and water supply problems and the lack of proper transport system in several areas.
While speaking, Sharma said that the people are suffering a lot due to non availability of sanctioned staff strength in various departments especially in the Revenue Department and immediate filling up of the staff. He urged the Government to redress the issues of the people on priority basis including relief to the flood victims of Rajpur Bhata, as 67 members of a barat party of Sikh community were washed away in the floods at Bhata in September last year, out of whom several bodies were not even traced out till today.
He demanded that Centre and State Government should clear the package of Rs 25 lakh to each refugee family of 1947, 1965 and 1971 as recommended by Congress-NC Government besides reservation to their children in the professional courses and jobs.
He also demanded that the registration claims of all genuine and left out families should be settled besides conferring all benefits, they are entitled to, as per norms.
Sharma also demanded adequate relief to the border residents including left out border migrants of Nowshera and Sunderbani besides allotment of plots at safer areas.
