KATRA, Dec 2: Reasi District Indian Style Wrestling Championship will be held on December 5 at Kalka Akhara Reasi under the aegis of J&K State Sports Council.
The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting held under the Chairmanship of President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India and Joint Secretary J&K State Sports Council.
General Secretary of the State Association Bansi Lal Tidyal said that the weigh-in of wrestlers will start at 10 am sharp and bouts will start at 11 am.
The wrestlers have been advised to bring their Jangia (Red & Blue) for the smooth conduct of Championship.
Chairman Technical Committee Deepak Wazir disclosed that championship will be held in the seven weight categories of 55Kg, 61Kg, 67Kg, 75Kg, 85Kg, 97Kg, and above up to 120Kg as per the latest norms of Indian Style Wrestling Association of India.
General Secretary Reasi District Indian Style Wrestling Association Naresh Kumar (Pappu Lakri) said Gold medalist wrestlers in each weight categories will also participate in the coming “Senior State Indian Style Wrestling Championship”, adding that certificates and medals will also be awarded to the wrestlers.

The championship will be organized by Reasi District Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association under the overall supervision of President Jammu District Indian Style Wrestling Association Shiv Kumar Sharma & organizing Secretary Surma Singh.
