Srinagar, Nov 19: After losing the last match, Real Kashmir FC, is eyeing for the first home win while playing against Mohun Bagan here tomorrow.
Real Kashmir will be playing their third match of the first ever I-league season with one of the oldest football club Mohun Bagan at synthetic turf TRC stadium on Wednesday.
They have managed to defeat the defending champions Minerva FC in Chandigarh so far but failed to win a home match against NEROCA FC while another match with Churchill brothers FC was a draw.
Praising the home team, Mohun Bagan Coach, Sankar Lal Chakraborty in a pre-match press conference said the team is very tough and it will be a challenge for them to take on the opposite team at their home turf.
”We have travelled a day before to adjust to the weather and the synthetic turf. But I think to face team Real Kashmir is a tougher challenge. They are playing very good. Although they lost the last match but they made several open chances. They have a good combination of foreign as well as local players. The weather and playing on the synthetic turf is a challenge for us,” he said
Regarding the weather conditions, Chakraborty said that there were no issue faced by players while doing a training session at the synthetic turf here.
Real Kashmir FC head coach, David Robertson while refuting any pressure on the players said that they will enjoy the match and onus will be on the Mohun Bagan to take out a positive result.
“Last game did not go well as we hoped but I think we played well in last two games and that was the first defeat in a year. There is no pressure on the team. We were underdogs and are playing against the team that is about 130 years old, so the pressure is on them. It is an honour for us that Mohun Bagan has come here to play against us. I have played in big clubs and the pressure is always on the big clubs to get a positive result. There is a lot of pressure on them and we will enjoy it,” the Coach said
“The good thing is that we have been creating chances. Unfortunately, we couldn’t take them in the previous match but we have been working on our finishing. Against a good team like Mohun Bagan chances will obviously be less but we have to make the most of it. If you look at all the teams, except Chennai, everyone has had a slow start. We beat the defending champions in the first game. It is very very early. At some point, Mohun Bagan will click and push on but hopefully not tomorrow,” he said.
