RCC Srinagar, HPCC Reasi register easy wins

JAMMU, Dec 21: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar and HPCC Reasi scripted resounding wins over their rivals to enter the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2nd Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Cricket Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
In the first match, RCC defeated Evershine Cricket Club by 8 wickets in an easy contest.
Earlier, batting first, Evershine Club scored 106 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Binny top scored with 28 runs, while Dheeraj and Pritpal contributed 16 and 15 runs to the total respectively. For RCC Srinagar, Amit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged 4 important wickets by conceding 8 runs in his 4 overs, while skipper Kuldeep Kumar claimed 2 wickets. Shashi and Sourav shared one wicket each.
In reply, RCC reached the target easily in 17 overs by losing 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Ahmer scored brilliant 63 runs off 46 balls with the help of 7 boundaries, while Ashwani Bhat and Shashi contributed 19 and 17 runs to the total respectively. For Evershine, Dheeraj and Abhishant took one wicket each. Ahmer was adjudged man of the match for splendid knock.
In another match, HPCC Reasi got better of Tornado Cricket Club by 9 wickets.
Batting first, Tornado Club bundled out for a paltry total of 89 runs. Aakash top scored with 46 runs while Raju contributed 12 runs to the total. Aakash hit 7 delectable fours and one six in his knock. For HPCC, Majid bagged 6 wickets by conceding just 6 runs in his 4 overs, while Arif and Sunny Malik claimed 2 wickets each.
HPCC, in reply, chased the target in 13.5 overs by losing one wicket to win the match by 9 wickets. Sunny Malik top scored with 45 runs, while Habib contributed 28 runs to the total. For Tornado Club, Sunil took the wicket to fall.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Sohail Yousuf, Amit Sharma and Deepak.
The Tournament is being organized under the supervision of Shashi Paul, organizing secretary of the Tournament.
