Rayat Bahra touches new high in campus placements

MOHALI, Dec 12: The Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions (RBGI) organised a Placement Fortnight during which 672 students got placement offers from different companies.
Announcing this here today, Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, said that objective of the Placement Fortnight was to provide best placement opportunities to young graduates of Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions in MNCs during defined timelines.
The target streams were B Tech (all branches), MCA, MBA, Polytechnic while a total of 83 companies were invited and there were 1177 eligible candidates. The selected candidates included B Tech -347, MBA-201 Polytechnic and others-124.
The highest package offered for B Tech was Rs 27 lakh and for MBA Rs 15 lakh.  Four students of B Tech and two students of MBA got placement in package between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, two students of B Tech and five of MBA got placement in package ranging between Rs 4.5 lakh to Rs 9.5 lakh, 172 students of B Tech and 75 MBA students were placed in package range between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 4.5 lakh. All other students were offered placements on an average package of Rs 2.4 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
The initiative of Department of Career Development and Placements, Rayat Bahra Group with active team spirit and support of all campuses proved to be a great success with young graduates studying in final year with Rayat Bahra Institutions receiving 672 offers in record time of 20 days which has itself set the milestone for future placements.
Of the selected students, 350 are from the Rayat Bahra Ropar Campus for B Tech, MBA, and Polytechnic. Campus Director Dr Suresh Seth said that during this Placement Fortnight, various top brands participated in campus placement and the highest package offered to students of Rayat Bahra Ropar Campus was Rs 10 lakh per annum and average package offered to students during this was Rs 3.5 lakh per annum.
A total of about 600 students participated in this Placement Fortnight. Some of the MNCs that participated during this placement fortnight included Tech Mahindra,  Cummins, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Luminous Power Technology Ltd, Marico Ltd, Data 64, Just Dial, ICICI Prudential, Karvy, Jaro Education, Club Mahindra, Emilence, Steinmetz Hyderabad, Direct I, Armentum Bangalore, A1 Technology, IMS People,  Tommy Hilfiger, Artech Infosystems  and Quaysys Software.
