JAMMU, Jan 3: Jammu City Ration Dealers Association in a meeting here, today held under the presidentship of Prabhu Dayal Sharma discussed various problems faced by the ration dealers and demanded their immediate resolution.
Addressing the meeting Prabhu Dayal demanded that the Government should release the commission to the dealers which has not been released in their favour since the launch of NFSA in February last year.
The dealers are facing problems in making their both ends meet, he said. He urged the Government to release the commission at the rate of Rs 143 per quintal with immediate effect.
He also demanded that the Government should receive money from the dealers after deducting their Commission which was earlier in practice so that the dealers will not face any problem.
Addressing the meeting Sanjay Abrol general secretary of the Association raised the issue of late supply of ration to dealers and said that the ration for the month of October and November last year has not been released till date despite the fact that  the dealers have already deposited the cost of ration with the Department.
Arun Chibber senior member of the Association demanded that the cost of gunny bags which is charged by Department at Rs 7 per bag be given free to the dealers as FCI is giving gunny bags free of cost to the Department.
