KISHTWAR, Nov 4: Ration dealers continued their protest demanding release of pending carriage commission.
The ration dealers assembled in the premises of CAPD Store here and raised slogans against the Government for not paying any heed to their demand.
The protesting ration dealers said despite assurance from Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Choudhary Zulfikar Ali, DC Kishtwar and Assistant Director Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs during their protest few months back, nothing has been done till date.
“We had written a letter to Governor and urged him to look into the issue”, they said, adding that the demand of increasing the commission was also highlighted.
They again urged the Government to look into their demands and release the pending carriage charges.
While speaking, Shakir Siddiqui, Chairman appealed to CAPD Department to redress the issue as the ration, which has not been distributed among the masses is lying in the main store of the district.
However, due to the continuous protest by the ration dealers, the people are facing problems as they have to purchase the ration items from open market.
