Jammu, Jan 27: Th. Ranjit Singh, Post Warden Civil Defence, Jammu was awarded with the DG Disc on the eve of 68th Republic Day 2017 for his exemplary work in Civil Defence organization for the last 32 years. Th. Ranjit Singh joined Indian Army in the year 1968 and after 17 years he retired from the service in the year 1985. During his service he remained special Commando and represented his unit in basket ball team and during his service period he remained extra ordinary sports person too. After his retirement he joined Civil Defence organization as Civil Defence volunteer and for his excellent contribution he rise up to the position of Post Warden Civil Defence. He has also been awarded & rewarded by the various organizations for his selfless services. He has also undergone various training courses regarding Disaster Management. He has been rewarded for his contribution in the Civil Defence Organization by Controller Civil Defence & Directorate of Civil Defence J&K.
