Divisional Level Athletic Meet gets underway

JAMMU, Dec 2: Randeep Singh of District Jammu won gold medal in 100 meters sprint in the Inter-District Divisional Level Athletic Meet (All Age Groups) for boys and girls, which got underway at Jammu University Ground, here today.
The athletes of Jammu division drawn from the districts of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur and Ramban took part in the competition.
Earlier, the competitions were being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu under the patronage of Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director General Youth Services & Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director Youth Services & Sports Jammu. Chanchal Kour, DYSSO Jammu is the Organizing Secretary of the Meet.
Medical Officer from CMO Office Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributes medals among the winners during the Meet.
The main objective of the competitions was to select the athletes of Jammu Division for the next level of competitions.
Earlier, in 200 Mtrs Under-14 boys, Ankush Kumar of District Jammu bagged Gold, while in 200 Mtrs Under-14 girls, Ayushi Bhat of District Jammu claimed gold.
In 200 Mtrs Under-17 girls, Chitrelekha of District Jammu bagged gold, while in 200 Mtrs Under-17 boys, Sandeep Dogra of District Jammu clinched gold.
In 200 Mtrs Under-19 boys, Randeep Singh of District Jammu won gold, while in 200 Mtrs Under-19 girls.

In 1500 Mtrs Under-17 boys, Sarfaraz Farooq of District Jammu won gold, while in 1500 Mtrs Under-17 girls, Neelam Akhter of District Udhampur bagged gold.
In 1500 Mtrs Under-19 boys, Mohd Muneer of District Samba clinched gold, while in 1500 Mtrs Under-19 girls, Ashu Devi of District Udhampur claimed gold. In 400 Mtrs Under-17 boys, Abrar Choudhary of District Jammu won gold.
Meanwhile, in Discus Throw Under-19 boys, Mukhtar Ali of District Jammu bagged gold, while in Discus Throw Under-19 girls, Sandhya Devi of District Kathua claimed gold.
In Discus Under-17 boys, Rahul Sharma of District Jammu won gold, while in Discus Throw Under-17 girls, Tania of District Jammu claimed gold.
In Discus Throw Under-14 boys, Sunny Deol of District Jammu won gold, while in Discus Throw Under-14 girls, Rubia Begam of District Jammu clinched gold. In Relay 4×100 Mtrs Under-14 boys, Jammu District won gold, while in Relay 4×100 Mtrs Under- 19 boys, Jammu District bagged gold and in Relay 4×100 Mtrs Under-17 girls, Kathua District won gold, while in Relay 4×100 Mtrs Under-19 girls, Jammu District claimed gold.
The event is being officiated by a panel of experts of the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu.
