JAMMU, Nov 20: Provincial President of National Conference and MLA from Nagrota Devender Singh Rana has urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to order ban on the release of feature film “Padmavati” in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a letter written to the Chief Minister, Rana said, “reports in media suggest that the contents of the feature film “Padmavati directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and based on the epic poem “Padmavat” are likely to hurt the sentiments of a particular community/religion and so has the potential to disrupt the peace and order in Jammu province”.
“I request you to kindly order the ban on the release of film in J&K till its contents are verified”, read Rana letter to Chief Minister.
