POONCH, Aug 5: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Mendhar, Javed A Rana today called for immediate help and return of PoK and J&K residents struck on wrong sides due to suspension of cross-LoC trade and travel for one month now.
In a statement issued here, Rana said that number of passengers stuck on both sides is swelling and is a serious issue.
“Passengers came to meet their relatives and are due to return while from J&K are also stuck on other side of LoC and both are waiting for their return for one month now”, Rana said.
He also termed approach of Central Government on cross-LoC trade and travel as callous.
“We also want that LoC trade should be clean in all aspects and involvement of any drugs or hawala money should be checked but innocent passengers and local traders from both sides have no fault and should be sent safely back to PoK while people from J&K stuck on other side should be brought back”, Rana added.
He called upon Ministry of Home Affairs to intervene in the mater to ensure safe and earliest return of stuck PoK residents from this side. Besides, Rana also asked Chief Minister to come clean on any policy.
